Day 214 - The 3 F's

How about another 3? Let's do the 3 F's:
Fabric, Floss, and Fringe
I think you're gonna love what Hannah did with this one:

That is the Lantern Rin image that you're looking at, and Hannah did a lovely job with it. The colors are so vibrant!!
A couple more days of Sparkle Creations Week are left, and you have until Sunday, the 3rd to get those cards linked up for a chance at that great prize...

Day 213 - The 3 B's

And today's 3 are:
Boy, Button, Black

Here is Kim's card:

Gorgeous work with the coloring of the image, Kim! This card makes me miss summer!! And that cool surfer is named Surfin' Oliver, and you can get a closer look at him over at the Sparkle Creations site.
On a side note, I would like to request that if you are participating in a 365 Cards challenge, please give credit to our blog. Occasionally we get a link and it isn't clear that the card was in any way inspired by one of our challenges. If I find it to be questionable, I will have to delete the link (and I have done so already). Unfortunately, quite recently we've had a couple such links, where it appears that the person who linked up was using it strictly for promotional purposes.
Thanks to all of you who make this such a fun and inspirational place to be!!

Day 212 - The 3 G's

This challenge is all about the letter G - and here are your THREE:
Girl, Green, Glisten (add some sparkle to that card!)
And here is Audrey's card:

There's a girl in the car, lots of green on the card, and some glittery exhaust (as well as a glittery bow!) and it looks fabulous!!
Do you love this Crusin Chloe image as much as I do? If you win this week's prize from Sparkle Creations, you can pick it up for yourself. The lucky winner will receive a $15 store credit!! And 365ers, if you're ready to make a purchase right now, you can head on over there and receive 10% off your order by using the discount code 365CARDS!!
If you haven't checked out all the great stamp designs, then pop over here to see all that Sparkle has to offer.
Back tomorrow with more fun in 3's...

Day 211 - The 3 T's

We have a winner from Robyn's Fetish Week. Congrats to Jammie!!!!!

You have won 5 digital products from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More!!! Please contact me here, and I will give you all the details on how to claim your prize!
Here's your Top Trio from last week's challenges:
1) Susan Kohl - For this gorgeous floral white space card.
2) Laurel S - This card, inspired by the scent of coffee, is absolutely delicious.
3) Studio Sara - For keeping her card wonderful clean and simple.
You are welcome to grab the Card of the Week blinkie (located on the sidebar) for your blogs!
A big HIGH FIVE to Studio Sara for completing all 7 challenges from last week. Sara is the only 365er (besides DT members Hannah and Rose) to attempt the business card challenge. Way to go Sara!

For the rest of the week we'll be bringing you our "The 3 ___" challenges. These are always fun and you all produce such amazing cards as a result. So let's get started, shall we?
Gloria is bringing us her card with 3 T's today, specifically teal, travel, and torn (paper, that is). Check it out:

The beauty of this sort of challenge is that you need to include the 3 T's listed above on your card, but you can do this however you see fit. And Gloria did a beautiful job incorporating the color teal, some torn paper (as seen in the close-up shot) and the stamp from Sparkle Creations for travel (not to mention the ticket) - sooooo cute!!
It's going to be a super fun week, so stick around...

Day 210 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Welcome to Sparkle Creations Week!!!!!
Sparkle Creations is a rubber stamp company owned by Sparkle Smith, and the entire DT had the good fortune to receive a stamp to play with. All week long our cards will feature a variety of the stamps that Sparkle offers. You simply must check out her website and blog (she is a very talented card maker)!!

Here is today's sketch:

And the Design Team examples:

Amy Tsuruta

I just love these stamps and I look forward to sharing with you the rest of the cards the DT has created all week long!!
Tomorrow I'll be back with some winners...

Day 209 - Keep it Simple

With a "Keep it Simple" Challenge you need to stick to only the following elements:
One image, a sentiment, one embellishment, and limit the amount of space you use on the card to about 1/3 of the entire space available.
Heidi kept it beautifully simple on her card:
I just love this melting snowman image from Robyn's Fetish, and it works so well with this challenge!
For those who like to pile the embellies on, let's see what you come up with when you have to keep it simple...

Day 208 - Quite a Pair

Have you ever noticed that some scrappy things just go together? In this case, I'm thinking of "blossoms and brads". They just go so beautifully together. Or do they? Well you'll have to be the judge of that because that's the pair you need to include on your card.

Does that sound too easy?? Well, I have to be sure it's a challenge, so here are the requirements:

1) You can only use one blossom and one brad on your card, and they must be used together.
2) They must be in the center of your card.
3) Anything else goes as long as the above requirements are met.

Here is Sophie's card:

Wow, this really showcases that gorgeous digi paper from Robyn's Fetish!

It's hard to say whether this challenge will be a tough one - I don't know that it's open for interpretation, but perhaps it is...

Day 207 - It's my Business

This is one of those challenges that started out as a cute idea, but ended up being a GREAT idea! I was thinking once how fun it would be to create a business-style card - a little something to pass along with your personal info, especially to a fellow scrapper. I turned the idea over to Hannah and this is what she created:

Isn't that the cutest? This fancy little business card features an adorable bear image and digi paper from Robyn's Fetish, and I'm lovin' it!!
You can keep it clean and simple, or really dress up, just make yourself a little bloggy business card and have fun with it...

Day 206 - Setting the Scene: Winter Wonderland

Sometimes I like to throw in a challenge that requires you to create a scene - it might be indoors or outdoors, but it has to fit with the theme.

This one is definitely intended to be an outdoor setting. Create a Winter Wonderland-themed scene. Kim very cleverly incorporated her warm winter perspective with this Robyn's Fetish image of a melting snowman. Check it out:

Wow - those colors are fantastic! And I do believe I see some digi paper peeking out in the background.

Okay 365ers, I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge!!

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Day 205 - Sweet Smellin'

This challenge is all about taking the scent of something you love and letting it inspire your card. It can be associated with a certain event in your life; maybe it's your favorite perfume, or some yummy food.
Audrey chose mulled wine as her source of inspiration, and here's her card:

Wow, she used a sweet fairy image from Robyn's Festish, colored beautifully to match the digi paper in the background. Audrey really captured the color of the spices and flavors (cinnamon, vanilla, cloves, citrus, and sugar) typically found in mulled wine.
This challenge is wide open to interpretation, and we'd love to hear all about why you chose your "smell".

Day 204 - White Space

Before I announce the winners, I just want to thank the ladies from the DRS Design Team who participated last week! It was fun to visit your blogs to have you play along with us!!
Our lucky winner from DRS Designs Week is Suzanne K.!!! Congrats and please email me here so we can get you set up with that $10 Gift Certificate.
Up next is our Top Trio. These fabulous card makers inspired us with their gorgeous creations:
1) Angela Wood - For creating this "country charm"ing card.
2) Cheryl - For this sketch card that just had all the right touches.
3) Joni - Who was beautifully inspired by two things that make her heart happy.
Congrats - you are welcome to grab the Card of the Week blinkie from the side bar for your blogs!
Great job to Doreen and Studio Sara for completing all the challenges this past week to become our Weekly Challenge All-Stars - Woo Hoo!
Here is today's White Space challenge sketch:

And Gloria's take using a super sweet angel from Robyn's Fetish:

This color combo is terrific, and I love the addition of the cork!
So you know how a white space challenge works - just keep the patterned paper and embellishments in the blacked out areas and you are all set...

Day 202 - Harvest Fest

Ahhhh - Where I live the weather is turning colder, the leaves are changing color and it's starting to feel like Fall. I think we all have things that remind us of this wonderful season, so I'm wondering what that might be for you.

Here's the challenge:

Use 3 colors and 2 images that you typically associate with Autumn. One of the images that you use can be found in patterned paper if you wish.
Here's Heidi's card:

Isn't that the sweetest scarecrow from DRS Designs? Heidi really captured the beauty of Fall in her card. She used the scarecrow and the pumpkin as her two images, and an orange/green/brown color scheme.
This challenge is wide open to interpretation, so it shouldn't be too hard to stick to the rules and still create a beautiful card!
Tomorrow brings another sponsor...

Friday, September 17, 2010

Day 201 - A Happy Heart

This should be a fun one:

Think of 2 things that make you truly happy and include them on your card and one of those things can be reflected in the sentiment.

I must say that I whole-heartedly agree with Sophie's 2 things:

Chocolate and good friends make my heart happy, too! And those are some "delicious" stamps from DRS Designs.
So 365ers, pick any 2 things that make your heart happy and let them shine on your card!!

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Day 200 - Stamp it Out

Do you love stamps in any form??
Well then, this is the challenge for you!
Use 4 different stamps on your card - make sure that at least 2 of the stamps are images.
Here is Hannah's lovely card creation:
Front and center on her card is that beautiful bird image from DRS Designs and I love the layering with the stamped background!
Have you visited the shop yet? If not, you had better get over there because there is a lot to see, and I have no doubt you'll find something you like!!!

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Day 199 - I Believe in You

I think it's time for some words of encouragement:
Create a card of hope and encouragement and include a poem or quotation that reinforces that.

Kim created a magnificent card, inside and out:

Kim's card featured a butterfly stamp and the lovely floral image from DRS stamps. They really stand out against the bold black and white background.

So pull out those poems or quotations of hope and encouragement and start scrapping!

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Day 198 - Busy Background

So here's the challenge:
Use 3 different patterned papers to fill the entire background of your card, leaving no blank space. They do not have to be the same size, as long as they cover the background.
I love, love, love the stamps that Audrey got to play with:

Isn't that the cutest cup of cocoa?? And check out the flourishes just underneath the cocoa - yep, that's a stamp, too, and Audrey did a fabulous job working it into the card.

Okay, 365ers, now it's your turn - let's see some busy backgrounds!!

Monday, September 13, 2010

Day 197 - Country Charm

Up first, a winner from Wink Wink Ink Week:
Congrats to Linda B!!!!!
Please contact me here to claim your prize.
As always, we've got a fabulous Top Trio for you:
1) Carla - for this bright, bold, and beautiful sketch card.
2) ARTish - for providing so much inspiration and detail in one little (but gorgeous!) card.
3) Suzanne K - for creating a card that so beautifully suits more than one occasion.
Thank you for sharing this amazing cards with us!

A round of applause please for our two Weekly Challenge All-Stars:

Linda B. and Studio Sara

You probably recognize these names because these card makers regularly find themselves listed among the All-Stars each week!

Can it be? A challenge that is as simple as the title? Why yes, we're just looking for some cards with some "country charm". Gloria got to play with this Fall Fence stamp from DRS Designs, and it definitely fits the challenge:

Gorgeous - and it makes me look forward to the arrival of Fall weather and everything that comes with it!

More fun challenges coming up featuring some fabulous stamps...

Day 196 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Welcome to DRS Designs Week!!

If you love rubber stamps, then you'll love DRS Designs! As you'll see this week, the Design Team was given a fantastic variety of stamps to play with -- and you must check out the shop, where you can learn all about this fabulous stamp company!!

This week, one of our participants will win this prize:

So let's get to that sketch:

And the Design Team examples:

Gorgeous work!

And now I must extend my apologies to Rose, who was given the wrong sketch (my fault!) and did create a card for this week. She did use her DRS stamps, and she is happily sharing her card with us anyway. So here's her card:

I do believe that card is "cute as a button"! Thanks, Rose :)

Tomorrow I'll be back with some winners from Wink Wink Ink Week....

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Day 195 - This or That

In an ideal world, we would all be making handmade cards specific to the exact occasion and to the exact person receiving it, but sometimes that just can't happen. So, we have to be prepared!

Many cards we've made can suit more than one occasion, so that's just what you will do for this challenge:
Create your card so that it would be appropriate for more than one situation -- for instance, it can have a vague sentiment or none at all.

Just like Heidi's card here. How many things could you fill this jar with? Love, friendship, good health... the possibilities are endless!

It doesn't have to be a jar as long as it works for more than one occasion!

Link it up!

Day 194 - The Break-up

Have you ever had a sentiment stamp (rubber or digi) that works perfectly on your card, except that you have trouble making it fit on the card?

That's where this challenge comes in, because it requires that you do just that:
Take a stamped sentiment, whether digi or rubber, and break it up on your card. For example, the first part could be at the top and the other on the bottom of your card; or part of it could be on the front of your card and the rest of it on the inside of the card.

Sophie broke up the sentiment on the front of her card:

I used the same sentiment on my card:

But I put the second part of this sentiment from Wink Wink Ink on the inside of the card:

It worked out great breaking it up this way, because I loved the font on this sentiment and I wanted it to be large.

You don't have to do it the way Sophie and I did - the options are wide open as long as you break that sentiment up!

One more challenge for the week, but you have until Sunday to link up those cards...

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Day 193 - Tools and Techniques

This is a challenge about your favorite things, specifically tools and techniques. Here are the details:
Use your favorite tool for adding color and your favorite technique for adding dimension on your card.

Hannah says her favorite tool for adding color is a marker and her favorite technique for adding dimension is to use foam squares to raise an image off the card:

Here's a close-up of where she actually created 3 layers:

That is so cool! I've never tried 3 layers before, but I'll be adding that to my to-do list :)

There are lots of ways to add color and dimension to your card, so let's see how you do it...

Day 192 - Wild, Wild West

This is just a fun theme, I think, and it's about time we celebrate the Wild, Wild West here at 365 Cards. Let's see some Western-themed cards!

Here's Kim's cool creation:

Not so wild, but oh-so adorable! This is one of those "anything goes" challenges, as long as it fits the theme...
